Maddox 1st Birthday

Can you believe it, My baby boy is ONE!

This year has flown by! Maddox is such a fun loving little boy. He makes me laugh every day. He started walking a couple weeks ago but is really starting to get it down. He has to keep up with that big sister of his. He is a very big Mama's boy but he refuses to say Mama only saying Dada. God is great and I thank him daily for blessing us with this precious little boy.

Here are a few pictures of his big day

Maddox had a great 1st Birthday. He is very Blessed to have wonderful friends and family who were able to celebrate with him.

He's Walking!

Maddox started walking March 5. He has been taking a couple of steps for a few days but would set down when he realized he was doing in by himself. The most steps he taken in a row was 4 but on the morning of March 5 I made cinnamon rolls. We had one left over so I threw it away. I came around the corner from sorting the laundry (please ignore in the background) when I looked over Maddox had gotten the cinnamon roll out of the trash. After I took it away from him he crawled back over to the trash, took it out again, and took off walking across the kitchen. Now that I have to very mobile kids it looks like the fun (exhaustion) is about to begin. Oh, and Yes, He got to keep the cinnamon roll.

1st Dental Visit

Emma had her first Dental cleaning Feb. 24. I was very nervous about how she would act because really who likes having their teeth cleaned? I figured she would either be good or terrible! These days she doesn't seem to have an in between.

Well see she surprised me...She was AWESOME! I was very impressed! The dental assistance and dentist kept commenting on how excellent she was being. Not only was she great but she had no cavities!

Way to go EMMA you made Momma proud!

No more pictures like these!

That's right no more Paci!

While at her dental appointed her dentist asked me if she took a pacifier. I said "Yes, I know I should stop her but I haven't been ready for the challenge yet." He recommended we stop soon because she was starting to get a small overbite. He said if we stopped it now that it would probably correct itself.

As soon as we walked out of the dentist she asked for her Paci. I figured now was as good as time as any. I called Mike told him how awesome she was for the appointment and broke the news to him that she was officially going to quit the paci.

Like I said, both of us had been dreading this because she is very attached to it. When we got home I put her down for her nap. She kept asking for it and I kept telling her no. Unfortunately, for me she knew where her secret stash was and I didn't. She would get out of bed, hand me something random, grab a paci and run to her bed. This happened a few times. Each time ending with me taking away the paci. She eventually cried herself to sleep.

That night She asked Mike for it. After he told her no she didn't ask again. She cried for about 10 min and fell right to sleep.

I could not believe how easy she was to break. Here we had been dreading it so bad and she almost made it too easy on us.

Valentines Day-2011

Happy Valentine's Day!
Emma showing off her valentine balloon and modeling the shirt manny made for her. We have had a fun day! We went to Emma's preschool for a little valentine party. Emma took cupcakes for her friends that she picked out "all by myself" as she says. Then we enjoyed playing games, singing songs, and making crafts.

Valentine Goodies

With all the snow days we have had lately Emma has been keeping me and herself busy making valentine treats. At target the other day I pick up a heart shape silicon baking dish and sense she has been dying for cupcakes. Above is one of the cupcakes Emma made.

We also decide to make her teacher and their babysitter a little valentine treat. I came across an idea for vanilla sugar from a blog I follow called the creative mama.

She so serious...adding vanilla to the food processor

Aunt ReRe's shower

Aunt ReRe (Sherita) and Uncle Boone (Daniel) are expecting their first baby at the end of March. We had a shower to honor baby Ella yesterday.

SNOWPOCALYPSE

"Oh my goodness!"as Emma would say. Maddox woke up at 7 and when I went to his room to get him I opened up his blind and this is what I found.
The snow started around 3am and by 7am we already had 12 in and counting. The news was reporting we were getting around 4 inches an hour.

I opened the back door to let the dogs out but as you can see that was not possible.

At times it was a complete white out. This is a picture of our deck.

Where did my van go?

22 inches of snow later
Mike wasn't able to drive his truck home from work today and he has already decided that unless he cleans off the driveway he wont get it in tomorrow either.
Emma decided that Daddy needed her help too.
"I wanna play"

Throwing snowballs at Daddy Sammy
Where did she go?
Daddy, Jake, and Sammy to the rescue
And she's done with the snow!
She fell down and after that she was screaming "I'm cold, Snow's scary!"
So not only did we wake up this morning still surrounded by 22 inches of snow this is the temperature my phone said. Wow...that's cold! Our local news is reporting it -15 degrees which is a record cold to go with our record snow fall for Arkansas. One thing is for sure this is probably the only time I'll see this in my lifetime and umm.....I'm ok with that!
